Work on the Skyway Bridge, connecting Deseronto to The County, is going to cross the halfway mark this summer.
Starting next Monday, construction and rehabilitation on the 850 metre two-lane bridge will commence for the year.
Segment D work with be just south of the mid-span, with the northbound lane upgrades to go first, the southbound lane by mid summer.
This segment should be completed by the end of 2021
The five-year project upgrades include a widening of the bridge by about six feet, replacement of the steel girders and deck, rehab on the piers, and reconstruction of the abutments.
Temporary traffic signals will control traffic, which will be down to one lane for the year.
Aecon Construction is overseeing the project.
