A former Member of Parliament for Hastings-Lennox & Addington will be running to take back the position.
The Liberal Party of Canada has announced that Mike Bossio, a resident of Tyendinaga Township, will run for the party in the next federal election.
Bossio was the riding representative from 2015 to 2019 when he upset Daryl Kramp by just 225 votes.
In 2019 he lost to Conservative Derek Sloan who now is running as an Independent.
He earned a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy at York University, and is a former councillor with Tyendinaga Township.
Most recently he has been serving as an advisor in rural affairs.
