A fire at a historic building in downtown Colborne last Saturday was intentionally set.
According to Today’s Northumberland, investigators with the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the scene at 11 Toronto Street for two days and came to the conclusion that the cause was arson.
The former opera house was being used as an apartment building and eight people were displaced Saturday with four having to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Firefighters had the flames knocked down quickly and fire damage was limited to just one apartment.
Northumberland OPP’s Crime Unit continues an investigation.
