The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board says Eastside Secondary School will be closed tomorrow (Friday), after someone connected to the school tested positive for COVID-19.
The board issued a letter Thursday afternoon saying there is no evidence of transmission in the school and those affected will be contacted directly by HPE Public Health staff.
A letter was also sent home to students considered to be low-risk.
Later in the day, the board said it would be closing the school on Friday February 12, with the plan to reopen on Tuesday February 16, unless something changes.
The school board is apologizing for the inconvenience and is asking students and parents to stay connected to its social media feeds for updates.
