Sidewalk patios, food trucks and mobile canteens and littering will be discussed at Thursday’s Prince Edward County Committee of the Whole meeting.
At the January 28 Committee of the Whole meeting, council decided to break up its draft Tourism Management Plan into three phases to allow for proper planning and discussion for all parts of the plan.
The first phase includes new by-laws regarding sidewalk patios, food trucks and littering that staff believe are the ones that will require the least amount of change and can be implemented quickly.
The patio by-law includes removing application fees for this year, the same as was done in 2020, extending the closing hour to 11 p.m. from 9 p.m. and extending the program end date from Oct 15 to Nov 30.
The littering by-law includes increased enforcement abilities.
The two other phases of the Tourism Management Plan will be introduced at the February 25 and March 11 Committee of the Whole meetings.
