The City of Quinte West and its unionized workers have a new deal.
Mayor Jim Harrison says it is fantastic to have a contract in place with CUPE Local 799 city staff.
“Let the workers know that we appreciate the work they do for us. We do our best to provide them with a safe working environment, safe equipment. We work together, we are stronger together.”
The deal goes until 2023, with a pay increase of under two percent.
Staff include those in public works, environmental services, planning and building, outdoor operations, arenas, facilities and finance.
