Belleville police have charged a Lake St. Peter man after a brief chase Friday morning.
At approximately 9:15 a.m., police spotted a vehicle they recognized from an earlier investigation on Dundas Street East. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle it fled at high speed.
Police discontinued the chase in the interest of safety after which the suspect vehicle continued fleeing and crashed into a stopped car at the intersection of Church Street and Station Street.
Several people suffered minor injuries and police charged 25-year-old Cody Williamson with flight from police, dangerous driving and five other highway traffic act offences.
Williamson will appear in court on March 4, 2021.
