A Conservative backbencher who is calling on the federal government to allowing cross-country alcohol shipments spoke on the Lorne Brooker Show Thursday.
In December British Columbia MP Dan Albas tabled a private member’s bill that would allow Canada Post to ship alcohol across provincial borders.
Currently only four provinces allow direct-to-consumer sales into their jurisdictions.
Ontario is not one of them.
Albas says inter-provincial trade barriers are hurting producers more than ever because of COVID-19.
Albas calls his plan “Buy, Ship and Sip.”
