Members of the Quinte West business community got an update from the mayor on Friday, as Jim Harrison gave a state of the city address to the chamber of commerce.
The mayor, and CAO David Clazie, gave a brief outline of the city’s strategic plan and an overview of some of the major projects that were completed last year and are expected to be completed this year.
Harrison also thanked the chamber for helping to support local businesses through the past year and continued to push the message that “we’re stronger together”.
“Look after ourselves and our families. Look after everyone there and if you have any of your associates having difficulties, then reach out. 2020 has demonstrated that if someone needs any kind of help, reach out and do your best. If you can’t do it, then get someone who can.”
Among the exciting things to come in 2021, Harrison touted the addition of a new pop-up business site, the expansion of the city’s electric car charging station program and planned expansion of the waterfront trail, among others.
