The Quinte West Detachment of the OPP has laid charges in relation to several incidents.
On January 27, 2021 at approximately 8 a.m., Quinte West OPP received a report of a break and enter at a Front Street business in Trenton.
The break-in occurred sometime overnight and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.
At approximately 9 a.m. the same day, Quinte West OPP officers were dispatched to a downtown business on Dundas Street West, where it was reported an unknown person vandalized the lobby.
That afternoon, officers responded to a suspicious person call at a residence on Whitley Lane, in Trenton.
Officers located the person and following investigation the individual was arrested in connection with the earlier incidents.
Police recovered the stolen cash and evidence related to the vandalism on Dundas Street West.
As a result, Zacarias Camara, 51 years old of no fixed address has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Break and enter a place – commit indictable offence
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Fail to comply with probation order – four counts; and
- Mischief under $5000
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for video bail on January 28, 2021.
