The City of Belleville is continuing to support the city’s homeless shelter in the downtown.
Mayor Mitch Panciuk handed over a $50,000 cheque to Grace Inn Shelter Executive Director Rob Crisp on Thursday.
The annual grant was approved during the city’s budget discussions and comes from the Social Infrastructure Fund.
The city’s commitment to the shelter is $150,000 over three years, with the money being put towards the Grace Inn’s general expenses.
