The Belleville Police responded to 28 calls for service January 10, 2021 at 5 a.m. and January 11, 2021 at 5 a.m.
Theft
On January 10, 2021 at 9:25 a.m., police attended a Sidney Street business regarding a shoplift. Police were advised that a female had left the store with a cart of groceries. The female was identified as she fled in her vehicle. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
Suspended driver
On January 10, 2021 at 11:55 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Emily Street regarding an obstructed licence plate. Police identified the female driver, and learned that her driver’s licence was suspended in 2014. The 41-year-old Quinte West resident was charged with driving while under suspension, and she was issued a summons to appear in court on March 1, 2021.
