With less than three months on the job as the new executive director of the Quinte Humane Society, Marilyn Lawrie is continuing to push towards a new facility.
Lawrie, who took over as director of QHS in November, will make an appearance at the virtual Quinte West council meeting Monday evening to provide an update on the fundraising for the new facility to be located on land at Wallbridge-Loyalist Road and Dundas Street West.
The current facility on Avonlough Road in Belleville is old and unusable and has housed the Quinte Humane Society since the early 70s.
Just three weeks ago the City of Belleville made a $2,000 contribution to the fund.
Quinte West council meets virtually Monday at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting can be streamed online.
