A 45-year-old man from the Quinte region has been convicted of voyeurism, making and possessing child porn, after a judge found that he had been secretly recording his 12-year-old stepdaughter in her bedroom.
Justice Stephen Hunter gave his verdict against the man, whose name is protected by a publication ban, in Belleville Court on Tuesday.
Police began their investigation after the girl found the camera in her room, with investigators finding at least four occasions of the girl being filmed while she was getting dressed.
Investigators also found a collection of child porn on his computers.
The man, who was a teacher at a school board from outside the area, had been suspended from his duties since the investigation began and is to be sentenced on January 15, 2021.
No other information is being released in order to protect the victim.
