The Belleville Police Service responded to 62 calls for service from December 29, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to December 30, 2020 at 5:00 a.m.
Domestic Assault
On December 29, 2020 at approximately 12:36 p.m., police attended an east end residence for a report of a domestic assault taking place. Officers spoke to the female victim who advised that she had been assaulted several times by her boyfriend during the course of the Christmas break. The officers noticed injuries to her face and neck as result of the assaults. Further investigation revealed that the male was also breaching a release order and probation order as well. A 31-year-old Belleville man was charged with three counts of assault, four counts of breach of a release order, two counts of breaching a probation order and one count of bodily harm: overcoming resistance. The male was held for a bail hearing on December 30, 2020.
