Belleville police ended up arresting a wanted man as they enforced Ontario’s Reopening Act regarding COVID-19 gathering limits last night.
Officers responded to a residence in the city’s north end at around 9:30. They suspected the residence was overcrowded and spotted a man leaving who was wanted on outstanding charges.
Police arrested the 27-year-old Belleville man and found him to be in possession of a prohibited weapon.
Meanwhile a 31-year-old Belleville woman was ticketed for non-compliance with the Reopening Ontario Act.
