Obstruct Police & Breach of Undertaking Charges
On December 27, 2020 at 12:30 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Old Hwy 2 East, Belleville. An investigation ensued that resulted in the arrest of a 36-year-old Kingston male, Randy Vankoughnett, for Breaching his Undertaking and Obstructing Police. As a result, Mr. Vankoughnett was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he was later released on an undertaking and given a court date of January 21, 2020 to face the charges.
Careless Driving Charges
On December 26, 2020 at 9:20 p.m., police, while on uniform patrol, observed two vehicles travelling south on North Front Street that were racing each other. Police were successful in safely stopping both motor vehicles, resulting in Careless Driving charges for a 25-year-old Belleville male and a 19-year-old Prince Edward County male. Both drivers were issued Provincial Offences Notices for Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
