The Premier of Ontario is expected to make a huge announcement early this (Monday) afternoon. According to a report by Global News, Premier Doug Ford is expected to announce a provincewide lockdown starting at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, Christmas Eve.
The report says sources say most of the province would be in the grey or lockdown zone for 28 days while areas in the far north would be in lockdown for two weeks.
Most non-essential businesses would have to close, restaurants and bars would only be able to offer takeout or drive-thru service, and gyms would be closed, among other restrictions.
Elementary schools would be closed and in-class learning would be cancelled at secondary schools.
