The federal government is continuing its commitment to provide a safe and reliable supply of drinking water for First Nations in Canada.
Today (Thursday) Minister of Indigenous Services Marc Miller announced $16.8 million to help pay for the last phase of a drinking water project on Tyendinaga Territory.
The Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte are providing $1.4 million toward Phase 3.
Construction on the last phase is expected to be finished by the fall of next year.
When complete, treated drinking water will be available to all 700 homes on the Territory.
