2021 is upon us, and in the challenges and priorities are always on the front burner for Hastings County Warden Rick Phillips.
Phillips says although COVID-19 is the main priority, there are a number of issues that have to continue moving forward.
“… new ambulance base in Central Hastings. We are doing a study to see where that would be relocated. Continuing to work on the four hours of direct care per day per resident with the Government of Ontario. Air conditioning for Centennial Manor (Bancroft), and Hastings Manor (portions of the building not air conditioned). Affordable housing.”
Eighteen affordable units in Bancroft, 32 units in Quinte West, and another five-year shovel-ready affordable housing project will be critical according to Phillips.
Child care in North Hastings, economic development, tourism plans and improving the mobile and internet service need to be addressed.
