“This is something that uh, it’s very promising. It is something that helps us keep thinking that case management is working.”
Oglaza added, “With the additional resources and help from the county we are going to be able to continue that work. As well, we’ll be able to maintain the level of case contact management as other tasks come our way. We know that already there are plans in place for the vaccination, the mass immunization. All of these plans are on the horizon which will ultimately be the most powerful tool in managing the pandemic. ”

“They are literally exhausted with all the work that’s been going on recently and this is going to be a real boost. Knowing that there’s more coming from the county and I think it’s going to be a real up-tick for our staff. We really do appreciate it.”
Mayor of Tweed and member of Hastings County Council Jo-Anne Albert is Chair of the Board of Health.
Albert thanked the county for its help during the pandemic, “I know how hard everyone has been working at public health.”
“As Eric said, they’re exhausted. So I thank my fellow councillors and the county for this added (money). It’s going to help greatly. They’re keeping on top of it but I know this is going to really give them a boost.”
The county motion noted Public Health will reimburse the county if provincial funding is provided to the health unit.
