A donation to honour one man’s late parents was to the benefit of the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Back the Build campaign.
Herb and Kathy Pliwischkies of Picton gave a gift of $10,000 to the campaign on Tuesday in memory of Herb’s parents, Margarete, who passed away last month and Herb Pliwischkies Sr., who passed away in 2010.
Herb stated, “The physicians and medical staff here at the County hospital have given their service to us…so we decided it was a good idea to give back to ensure there is always a hospital in Prince Edward County.”
Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Executive Director, Shannon Coull said Herb and Kathy are an outstanding example of the community spirit we see in the County and remembering loved ones, in a manner that will help other people, carries a special significance to it.
The Pliwischkies have sponsored the PECMHF golf tournament that is hosted in partnership with RE/MAX Quinte for several years now in addition to giving annually.
