Fire destroyed a house in Tweed this (yesterday) afternoon.
Tweed Fire Chief Don Barnett says the back of the house was up in flames when he and 15 firefighters and equipment arrived on the scene.
The house, on St Joseph Street near the arena, was 2 storeys, an older home, with an addition. Chief Barnett says the home is destroyed, setting the loss at around 300 thousand dollars.
No one was home at the time, as the owner had just stepped out for a few minutes, returning to find his house in flames. The cause is under investigation.
