The Belleville chapter of the Salvation Army is seeing Kettle Campaign donations come in slower than usual, however, donations through its Letter Appeal Campaign have been strong and steady.
Director of Community and Family Services Connie Goodsell tells Quinte News the unfamiliar “Tip Tap” technology and lack of personal connection at the kettles, may be hampering donations, but they’re hoping that will pick up in the lead up to Christmas.
However, Goodsell says the Letter Appeal Campaign has already brought in about $150,000, which is $50,000 more than the annual goal for that initiative.
She says that because of those changes at the kettles, it seems like people are changing the way they donate, but the Salvation Army is grateful for the support.
