The Belleville Downtown District BIA has been granted over $27,000 to brighten up the holiday season.
The $27,607 donation from the provincial government will go towards providing safe holiday activities amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The downtown district’s Enchanted and Festival of Lights programs were among the first to get funding under the province’s Reconnect Festival and Event Program which is a provincial fund to allow municipalities to run safe programming during the pandemic.
Belleville’s Enchanted and Festival of Lights, which began in November, features pedicab tours and a holiday light show among other things, lasting throughout the holiday season.
