November was a good month as far as proposed construction projects were concerned in the City of Belleville.
Seventy-six building permits worth a total of $7.1 million were issued by the city’s building department last month.
Included in the total were 24 permits for new houses.
In November of last year permits were issued for $6.8 million worth of projects.
However, construction so far this year lags far behind last year’s pace as permits have been issued for $89.1 million while in the first 11 months of 2019 that total was $136.8 million.
Meanwhile November was a boom month for new residential construction plans in the Municipality of Brighton.
Fourteen building permits for new houses were issued last month in Brighton with a total value of almost $6.9 million dollars. Thirteen of the 14 permits were for new homes in the town of Brighton.
Meanwhile, construction value of permits issued to the end of November is almost the same as it was for the same period last year.
So far building permits worth $33.6 million have been issued compared to $33.4 million for the first 11 months of 2019.
