Health officials say a COVID-19 outbreak at Procter & Gamble in Belleville has grown to 15 cases.
An outbreak was declared at the University Avenue plant on Monday morning, when nine cases were identified, but the HPE Public Health Dashboard showed six more cases there on Tuesday.
According to P&G, about 1,000 employees work at the site along with 600 third-party contractors, with more than 200 of those third-party workers being asked to self-isolate as of late last week, for precautionary reasons.
The company is still operating and Medical Officer of Health Dr. Piotr Oglaza has said that the products manufactured by P&G are not a transmission risk.
There was a total of nine new cases across Hastings Prince Edward reported on Tuesday, along with two recoveries, bringing the total number of active cases in the region to 39.
