Lennox and Addington OPP have one person in custody following a domestic incident earlier this week.
Shortly after 5 p.m. on Thursday, officers responded to a family dispute on Bath Road in Loyalist Township.
According to police, one person was assaulted and the alleged suspect fled the scene.
Shortly before 6 p.m., a road rage incident on Taylor-Kidd Blvd. was reported to police involving the suspect vehicle.
The other driver involved in the incident was assaulted and a gun was discharged.
There were no serious injuries and the attacker fled on foot.
Lennox and Addington officers along with the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team and OPP Canine Unit conducted an intensive search of the area. The emergency alert system was used to alert residents in the area.
A suspect was arrested without incident at approximately 8 p.m.
Bradley Ryan Smith, 27, of Loyalist Township has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Dangerous operation of a vehicle
The accused was held for a bail hearing and will appear in Greater Napanee court today (November 27, 2020).
The investigation remains ongoing.
