The County of Prince Edward and the union representing its full-time firefighters have officially agreed to a new, four-year, collective bargaining agreement.
The deal was approved by PEC Council on Tuesday night after being previously ratified by members of the IAFF Local 2745.
The contract, which runs from January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2024 includes wage increases of 1.575% at the beginning of each year, increases to benefits, added sick days and the potential for a compressed work week for some employees.
County CAO Marcia Wallace says the deal puts both sides “in the best position to achieve the desired outcomes for The County”.
