QUINTE WEST– ‘Tis the season to “Love Your Local” in Quinte West. City staff and volunteers are working hard to bring festive cheer to residents after a challenging year.
Soon, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy beautiful festive lighting displays in Trenton and Frankford. The Frankford Fantasy of lights begins at the Frankford Tourist Park, Saturday, Nov. 28, and the Doug Whitney Fantasy of Lights will open to the public on Sunday, Nov. 29.
In addition to the beautiful lighting displays, visitors to Trenton and Frankford will find festive messaging and perfect selfie spots throughout downtowns. People are encouraged to shop locally and enjoy their time locating holiday messages and taking photos with friends and family members.
This year it is more important than ever to support local businesses hit hard by COVID-19 restrictions. After a successful #LoveYourLocalQW campaign, our jolly friend from the North Pole wants to help promote local retailers and spread holiday cheer through the City’s social media channels. Even the big man in red recognizes the importance of shopping local this time of year. Starting Dec. 1, there will be information on great local options for holiday shopping and chances to win prizes from unique Quinte West businesses.
“Now more than ever, we need to come together as a City to support one another,” says Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison. “Support local businesses by doing your holiday shopping in Quinte West, take your family to see the fantasy of lights displays, enjoy time together in nature. It has been a difficult year, and this is the time to appreciate everything we have.”
