Salvation Army Belleville is expanding its food program services after a sharp increase of need this year.
According to Salvation Army, the meal program has seen an 82% increase since April and as a result it is expanding its capacity.
Accessibility will be improved at its food bank and meal program location on Pinnacle Street.
When public health guidelines allow, the program will let people experiencing homelessness or food insecurity eat inside as the food program is only currently doing takeaway.
As a result of the decision to expand the food services, the thrift store will not reopen.
