The Belleville Police Service responded to 65 calls from November 11, 2020 at 5 a.m. to November 12, 2020 at 5 am.
Mischief
On November 11, 2020 at approximately 1:22 p.m., Belleville police received a call to attend a business in the downtown core of the city for a report of a person having defecated inside the entry doors. The person left the area walking northbound but was quickly located and arrested by the officers for mischief. Further investigation revealed that the female was also breaching her probation order. 27-year-old Kendall Dupuis of Belleville was released on a promise to appear and an undertaking with a first appearance date of December 10, 2020 to answer to the charges.
Liquor Licence Act
On November 11, 2020 at approximately 5:50 p.m., officers received a call of an intoxicated male near the police station that was falling off the sidewalk and onto the roadway. When officers arrived, they confirmed that the male was heavily intoxicated due to the consumption of several alcoholic beverages and was posing a safety risk to himself and the road users. The 71-year-old Belleville man was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and later released once he was deemed to be able to care for himself.
On November 12, 2020 at approximately 2:05 a.m., Belleville police officers attended a south end location for a report of a distraught male. Once on scene officers realized that the male was intoxicated form having consumed alcoholic beverages. Officers arrested the 51-year-old Belleville man for being intoxicated in a public place for his own safety. He was taken to The Belleville Police Service and later released once able to care for himself.
