The Belleville Police Service responded to 33 calls for service from November 8, 2020 at 5 a.m. to November 9, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Motor Vehicle Collision
On November 8, 2020 at 12:39 p.m., police attended a two-vehicle collision in the city’s east end. There were no injuries, and the at fault driver was charged with Careless Driving.
Obstruct Police
On November 8, 2020 at 8:37 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle for Highway Traffic Act offences in the east end of the city. Investigation found that the driver provided police with a false name in an attempt to avoid charges. The driver’s identity was later established by police. As a result, 30-year-old Alexander Green of Tyendinaga was charged with obstructing police and released on a Form 10 Undertaking with a December court date. Green was also charged with various Highway Traffic Act offences and issued a three-day licence suspension.
Public Intoxication
On November 8, 2020 at 9:56 p.m., police attended a disturbance in the city’s west end. Investigation revealed that a 40-year-old Belleville woman was at that location causing problems. She was subsequently arrested for her own protection after being found intoxicated in a public place and was held at police headquarters until sober.
