Drivers are being advised to keep an eye out for wildlife in on local roadways, especially at dawn and dusk.
Quinte West Firefighters are on the scene of a van-vs-deer crash on the westbound Highway 401 this morning, just past Aikins Road.
Fire Chief John Whelan tells Quinte News the animal was killed in the crash and the van was totaled and the driver was taken to Trenton Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Whelan says the incident serving as a good reminder to keep an eye out, with many deer moving around as hunting season is open.
It’s the second such incident they’ve dealt with this week, after a car-vs-deer crash on Tuesday night in the on Old Highway 2, in the Montrose Road area as well.
