Three people are facing charges after attempting to flee from officers Wednesday night.
Around 8 p.m. Wednesday, Lennox and Addington OPP spotted a vehicle on 401 east through Greater Napanee with no licence plates. Officers stopped the vehicle and investigated before the car took off and exited at Palace Road where a tire deflation device was used.
The vehicle eventually stopped in a field off County Road 4 and all three people in the vehicle fled on foot.
Police caught and charged all three people.
Rachael Nathella Star Sweet, 24, of Tweed was charged with:
- Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle
- Fail to comply with Probation order
- Obstruct Peace officer
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
- Possession of Schedule 1 Substance
Myles Lessard, 26, of Kingston was charged with:
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
- Failure to comply with undertaking
- Two counts of Possession of weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Schedule 1 Substance
Jerry Allen Leeman, 27, of Kingston was charged with:
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
- Possession of weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Schedule 1 Substance
Lessard and Leeman were both released and will appear in Napanee court on January 5, 2021.
Sweet was held for bail and appeared in court October 29.
