A Quinte region MPP wants to bring the spring bear hunt back to Ontario. Randy Hillier, who is a candidate for the leadership of the Ontario Progressive Conservative party, issued a challenge to the ruling Liberals and those running against him. The Lanark-Frontenac-Lennox and Addington MPP says rural and northern Ontario is struggling economically, and that re-instating the spring bear hunt would bring back millions of dollars into local economies. Hillier says most other provinces allow spring hunts.
