One driver has been given a laundry list of charges after an incident in Greater Napanee early Wednesday morning.
OPP were on patrol around 2:45 a.m. on Centre Street near Richmond Boulevard when a vehicle with no plates was seen making an illegal U-turn.
When officers tried to stop it, the driver took off driving dangerously and eventually crashed into an OPP cruiser. The driver then got out and assaulted an officer.
Darrell Kenneth Snyder, 34, of Ottawa was arrested and charged with:
- Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
- Failure or Refusal to comply with demand
- Utter threat
- Assault Police
- Resist arrest
- Fail to comply with probation; and
- Flight from police.
He was further charged provincially with:
- Fail to have insurance
- Possess unmarked cigarettes
- Drive Motor Vehicle, no plates
- Drive while under suspension
- Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
- Drive motor vehicle with open container of liquor
He appeared in court the same day and had his licence suspended for three months and his vehicle impounded for a week.
