Another member of the Belleville Senators has been re-signed by the NHL parent Ottawa Senators.
The Sens have re-signed restricted free agent centre Filip Chlapik to a one year two way contract.
The 23 year old Chlapik had 22 points in 37 games with Belleville last season. He also played 31 games with Ottawa scoring 3 goals and 3 assists.
The deal is worth $735,000 U.S. in the NHL and $70,000 U.S. with Belleville.
Chlapik has been with Belleville for all 3 of their seasons in the American Hockey League after being drafted by Ottawa in the second round of the 2015 NHL draft. In 146 games with Belleville he has scored 37 goals and 51 assists. He has 5 goals and 6 assists In 56 games with Ottawa over the three seasons.
Chlapik is currently on loan to H.C. Sparta of the Czech League but will return once the NHL figures out when they can start the 2021 season.
