The Ottawa Senators have signed forward Filip Chlapik to a one-year, two-way contract for the upcoming season.
The 23–old from the Czech Republic has played 146 games with the AHL Belleville Senators over his three year career notching 37 goals and 51 assists.
He has also appeared in 56 career NHL games with Ottawa, tallying five goals and six assists and has also represented his country at various levels of international competition.
Chlapik was loaned to HC Sparta Prague to start this season, where he has scored once in three appearances so far.
He holds the B-Sens’ franchise record for most game winning goals with eight and is tied for the team’s record for game winning goals in a season with five.
His new deal with the Senators will see him make $735,000 in the NHL and $70,000 in the AHL.
