On October 24, 2020 just before 5 p.m., members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Northumberland Paramedics and Cramahe Township Fire Department, responded to a report of a collision involving two All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) on County Road 21 just east of County Road 25.
Two ATVs towing utility trailers full of wood were travelling on County Road 21 when they flipped over into the north side ditch. Both riders were transported by paramedics to a local area hospital.
Jason King (age 50) of Alnwick-Haldimand Township was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The 27-year-old rider from Cobourg remains in hospital with unknown injuries.
Traffic is being turned around just west of the collision site on County Road 21 while OPP members trained in collision reconstruction measure and document the scene.
The circumstances surrounding this collision remain under investigation.
