The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board is reporting a case of COVID-19 at a Belleville high school.
According to the ALCDSB’s COVID-19 information page, there is one active case at Nicholson Catholic College, which was reported Thursday.
A comment on a Quinte News Facebook post also notes that parents of students at NCC were notified about the positive test by HPE Public Health last night, saying that the person wasn’t at school while they were contagious.
The case has not yet been added to the health unit’s COVID-19 Dashboard.
It’s likely the case will be added when the dashboard is updated around 11:00 a.m. Friday morning.
The school board isn’t saying whether the positive test came from a student or staff member, adding that “a positive case at a school does not mean the individual was exposed to COVID-19 at the school, they may have been exposed somewhere else in the community.” We’ll update the story and the daily numbers for the region through the day.
