Hastings Prince Edward Health is reporting another new case of COVID-19 in our area today.
The Health Unit Dashboard shows six active cases, with the most recent one being detected in Belleville, though the transmission cause is still listed as pending.
There are no new cases today in Northumberland County, with one active case there, according to the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge Health Unit.
Province-wide a record high of 939 new cases of COVID-19 is being reported in Ontario today.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says 336 cases are in Toronto, 150 in Peel Region and 126 in Ottawa leading to new restrictions in those areas, prohibiting indoor dining at restaurants and bars, along with the closing gyms, movie theatres and casinos.
The measures will go into effect tomorrow and will be in place for at least 28 days.
The government is also asking people in those areas to leave their homes only for essential purposes.
