It’s always nice to get more bang for your buck and it seems the City of Belleville has done exactly that.
The city applied for and received funding from the federal and provincial governments to help it pay for four new Belleville Transit buses.
The total cost was almost $3.2 million with the city’s share being $888,000.
When the price came in for the four buses there was still room in the project budget for the purchase of a fifth bus.
On Monday, city council will see that senior government has approved the purchase of another bus at no additional cost.
