Not surprisingly the MP for Bay of Quinte riding Neil Ellis liked what he heard in yesterday’s Throne Speech.
Liberal Neil Ellis says the COVID-19 pandemic had to be the focus or nothing would work out positively going forward.
He pointed to improvements to long term care and daycare, a revamped Employment Insurance Program and specific investments to support the hospitality and tourism sectors as being very important.
Meanwhile, his government will need the support of the NDP to survive a confidence vote as the Conservatives and Bloc Quebecois have already said they won’t back the speech.
Ellis believes his Liberals and NDP will reach an agreement and stave off a quick election.
Parliament resumes sitting today, with most members participating virtually.
