Belleville police officers and Hastings-Quinte paramedics found themselves dealing with incidents involving fighting last night in the city.
The two incidents, both involving alcohol, happened within minutes of each other starting shortly before 10 o’clock.
First, police had to break up a fight between a father and son at a residence on Station Street in which the son had hit his father in the head with a bong, causing a cut. The father called an ambulance but then became aggressive with paramedics. He eventually calmed down and was taken to Belleville General Hospital for treatment.
In the second incident police broke up a fight between two men at an apartment on Cannifton Road. One of the combatants was taken to hospital with a minor cut to the head.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
