Beer lovers in Belleville and area have helped local food banks and health care providers by bringing their empties back.
Since March 17, The Beer Store has allowed customers to choose if they’d like to donate the proceeds from their empty beer, liquor, or wine bottles to food banks or health care centres.
That effort has led The Beer Store to donate almost $78,000 to area hospitals or foundations.
Across the province $2.3 million was raised in the recycling program.
