A Loyalist Township man is facing charges after the OPP foiled an attempt to smuggle contraband into the Quinte Detention Centre in Napanee.
Shortly after 9 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, a suspicious man was seen trespassing on private property near the facility on Richmond Boulevard.
Lennox and Addington OPP, with assistance from the East Region Community Street Crime Unit, arrested the man.
Officers say they seized a large drone and a quantity of contraband including cannabis and tobacco.
Police have charged 20-year-old Marcus Pye-Condie with possession for the purpose of distributing and entering a prohibited premises.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on November 24, 2020.
The investigating is ongoing.
