Another member of the Belleville Senators’ coaching staff is moving on to a new opportunity.
The Kingston Frontenacs announced today that Kory Cooper is joining the Ontario Hockey League club as its assistant general manager and goaltending coach.
Cooper has spent the past four seasons tutoring the Senators’ stable of young netminders and returns to Kingston where he served as goaltending coach from 2006 to 2011.
He also held the same role at various times with the OJHL Kingston Voyageurs, OHL Mississauga Steelheads, ECHL Brampton Beast and Queen’s University Gaels, and played for the Belleville Bulls from 1994 to 1997.
He’s the second member of Belleville’s coaching staff to part ways with the team this summer, after Assistant Coach Colin Chaulk left in August, to become the general manager of the Mississauga Reps of the AAA Greater Toronto Hockey League.
