The Belleville Chamber of Commerce has had to cancel an event planned for West Zwick’s Park this weekend because of the ongoing pandemic.
Chamber boss Jill Raycroft says they’ve been told by public health officials that the Market In The Park event scheduled for Sunday could encourage a gathering larger than what’s allowed under the province’s COVID-19 protocols.
Raycroft noted that the Chamber has been able to adjust many of its events throughout the summer to fit those provincial guidelines and felt this event would do the same and is apologizing for “getting people’s hopes up”.
She says that the Kiwanis and Kids event in East Zwick’s Park will go ahead as planned, as will any Pop-Ups On The Bay vendors who have chosen to stay open for an extra few weeks.
