Trespass at Meyers Pier
Belleville Police had to deal with a disruptive person around Meyers Pier Thursday.
Officers were called to the pier just after 3:00 p.m. to deal with a man who had already been asked to leave the area earlier in the day.
Police say he not only refused to leave the area, but also said he would continue to come back, leading to him being arrested and taken to BPS headquarters.
The 45-year-old man, whose name wasn’t released, was let go with a provincial offence notice for failing to leave a premises when directed.
Report of woman being pinned against car leads to arrest
A 28-year-old Madoc man has been arrested after an investigation into an alleged domestic dispute.
Belleville Police say they were called around 9:45 a.m. on Thursday morning, about a woman allegedly being assaulted near a vehicle on Victoria Avenue.
A caller told police the woman was being choked and pinned against the car by a man who left the area.
Police tracked down the suspect a short time later and laid a charge of domestic assault.
The suspect, whose name wasn’t released, was released with a court date on September 28.
